Port of Antwerp-Bruges & North Sea Port at the helm of international hydrogen cooperation

And that brings us to a second update from the Port of Antwerp-Bruges! Flanders biggest port and the Port of Belledune in New Brunswick, Canada, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at deepening their transatlantic collaboration in the hydrogen sector. By uniting public and private stakeholders, the agreement is aimed to foster joint initiatives, promote mutual knowledge exchange, and pave the way for certification processes around green and low-carbon hydrogen.

North Sea Port, bridging Flanders and the Netherlands, has likewise been busy. North Sea Port joined forces with partners including NLHydrogen and other Dutch seaports to sign the Dutch Hydrogen Import Declaration. The declaration was officially handed over to Dutch Minister for Climate and Green Growth Sofie Hermans. It calls for – amongst others -  targeted investments in hydrogen import infrastructure and inland transport to supply the wider European market. With this collective effort, the signatories aim to reaffirm the Netherlands’ ambition to become a key gateway for sustainable hydrogen imports into Europe.
