HAESAERTS advances hydrogen-powered logistics with successful Belgium–Italy transport for CP Chem
HAESAERTS, part of the Limburg-based ALTREA Group, continues to advance the transition to hydrogen-powered road transport, successfully completing a long-distance freight operation between Belgium and Italy for key customer CP Chem. The recent international transport mission, in collaboration with CMB.TECH, DATS24 and TEAL, achieved a remarkable 94% reduction in CO₂ emissions through the combination of hydrogen and HVO fuel. HAESAERTS’ first CMB.TECH H₂ Dual Fuel tractor, introduced in 2023, has now exceeded 150,000 kilometers in commercial service, confirming the reliability and operational performance of hydrogen-assisted transport in demanding chemical supply chains. Looking ahead, ALTREA Group plans to further strengthen its hydrogen strategy by introducing a new generation of hydrogen mono-fuel tractor units into its fleet by mid-2027, reinforcing its ambition to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission transport solutions across Europe.
