Fluxys and Elia join forces on Belgium’s energy roadmap
Belgium’s electricity and – of-course - hydrogen future is being shaped through a close collaboration between transmission operators Fluxys and Elia. Their joint work is anchored in a Royal Decree (May 2024), which sets the framework for developing, approving and publishing the national transmission network plans.
As part of this process, the two operators have now launched a public consultation on the scenarios and data behind Belgium’s 10-year federal investment plans. The consultation is open to network users, regulators, regional authorities, NGOs, academia and other stakeholders. So, if you’ve got thoughts on Belgium’s energy future, now’s the time to put them on paper.
No time to lose! The consultation runs ‘till 12 September 2025. The documents include proposed demand and supply scenarios, quantitative inputs by sector, and the modelling approach for the national development plans.
