2,2GW of green ambition: NEOM Green Hydrogen Production Facility
Even more exciting news from Air Products, which is building what’s set to be the world’s largest green hydrogen project. According to a recent update, the construction - in Saudi Arabia for the state-owned NEOM Green Hydrogen Company - is now 80% complete. The project includes 2,2GW of electrolyzers, an air separation unit, storage tanks for green ammonia, and a shipping dock dedicated to export for hydrogen-derived NH3. It’s also powered by an impressive 2,2GW of solar and 1,6GW of wind energy, supported by a transmission grid.
The first green ammonia shipments are expected to hit the market in 2027, and we’re looking forward to see the finished results. Can’t wait? Have a look at this sneak peak video.
