Working Groups

The Waterstof Industry Cluster hosts several working groups in which cluster members come
together to dive in deeper on specific topics. The groups each have their specific aims and objectives, but all of them facilitate knowledge sharing and regularly work towards concrete outputs on their respective topics. Working groups are open to new members on a rolling basis.

Working shipping applications

This working group aims at knowledge building and development of pilot projects related to the use of hydrogen in shipping (focus on inland and coastal navigation). Participants are companies that either develop technology for hydrogen based ship propulsion, (engines, fuel cells), build or operate hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, hydrogen suppliers or end-users in the inland navigation sector. The working group meets about four times a year and is organised in collaboration with De Blauwe Cluster, the Flemish spearhead cluster for the Blue economy.

Working Group Policy

This working group analyses the regulatory framework of hydrogen, with focus on the translation of the European directives into local legislation.Legislative barriers for the roll-out of the hydrogen market are identified and recommendations are formulated in position papers (cfr reference papers on portal). On a regular basis, meetings with policy makers are organised to present the general state of play of hydrogen in our region and discuss the recommendations from the hydrogen industry. The working group meets on a regular basis to respond to ongoing policy developments as identified by the working group members.

Working H2forAll

Icoon_adviseur.png

This working group aims to create relevant, accessible and objective information about hydrogen for the wider public. Among the outputs of the working group are a podcast series, revised content on the website and an animated video on “what is hydrogen”. The main function of the working group is to think along in the process, provide feedback on created content and new information and dissemination activities. The working group meets on an ad-hoc basis to gather feedback on newly created material or when important decisions have to be made.

Working Group Mobility

This working group brings together partners in the mobility sector and aims at knowledge building and sharing, plus development of projects or initiatives. This working group consists of FCEV suppliers, fleet managers and other potential customers, HRS operators and partners, and other players in the supply-chain of HRSs and hydrogen vehicles.
Within the working group regular updates on hydrogen vehicles and the realisation of hydrogen
infrastructure in the BeNeLux are given. It gives a podium for WIC-partners and others to present new services, innovations and projects on hydrogen mobility. The WG also is collaborating to create a short, uniform and transparent best practice approach for opening and certificating HRSs in the BeNeLux, is defining a Roadmap for hydrogen mobility in the BeNeLux, targets increasing the utilization of existing HRSs, and performs Communication and Lobby activities.
