Expanding your offshore wind and green hydrogen business network

Inn2POWER

Inn2POWER is an Interreg North Sea Region project. The aim of the project is to expand the capacity for innovation and to improve access to the offshore wind industry and green hydrogen for SMEs by connecting offshore wind and green hydrogen businesses in the North Sea Region.

The first phase of the multi-year project (October 2016 – 2021) was solely focussed on the offshore wind sector. The project worked on:

·       Supporting partnerships and access to new, international markets

·       Mapping the opportunities and challenges for SMEs around offshore wind energy

·       Developing offshore wind tools (company directory, testfacilities.eu)

·       Strengthen the role of test facilities for offshore wind

In the second phase (2021-2023) the project was extended to the green hydrogen economy, with WaterstofNet as a partner for Belgium. The project aimed to broaden the above-mentioned mapping and tools to the green hydrogen sector. You can find the other partners in Belgium and the other countries in the visual below.

Role of WaterstofNet

WaterstofNet was a partner for Belgium in the second phase of the project, extending the offshore wind scope to the green hydrogen economy. As such, WaterstofNet did the following things:

·       WaterstofNet was the main author of the Green Hydrogen State of the Nation Report for Belgium.

·       WaterstofNet contributed to the Company Directory, an online adressbook for the offshore wind and green hydrogen industry in Europe. You can explore this website to search the European offshore wind and green hydrogen supply chain for partners and customers and browse the innovation challenges posed to the industry to reduce costs to the sector.

·       WaterstofNet provided an important contribution to the report “Offshore Wind Energy and Green Hydrogen - Offshore test facilities and hydrogen” by conducting interviews with relevant players in Belgium who are working on offshore hydrogen production.
