Waterstof Industrie Cluster has been selected as one of the six new Innovation Networks by VLAIO

VLAIO has approved six new ‘Innovative Companies Networks’ (IBNs) to accelerate collaboration and innovation across strategic sectors in Flanders. Launching between 2026 and 2027 with a three-year duration, the networks will bring together companies, knowledge institutions, and other stakeholders, with the aim to strengthen innovation ecosystems, foster new partnerships, and improve the competitiveness of Flemish businesses while contributing to priorities such as the climate transition, circular economy, digital transformation, and strategic autonomy.  

Besides the Waterstof Industrie Cluster, the five other selected initiatives focus on cleantech (CIRE), EdTech and HRTech (Tech4Talent), space technologies (Flanders Space), innovative remediation technologies (IBNinKIS), and bio-based materials for construction (BioMaterialis).  

The IBN selection brings financial support, which will be used to intensify our innovation & project development activities, with focus on start-ups and small companies.  Furthermore, the IBN status allows the WIC partners to participate in ‘inter-cluster’ projects with the Spearhead clusters.
