US Heven AeroTech prepares for mass production of Fuel cell drones

Heven AeroTech is an American defense technology company that designs and manufactures long-endurance, hydrogen fuel cell-powered drones for military, humanitarian, and commercial operations.  Heven claims that their hydrogen-powered drones have 4x the flight time of battery systems with the additional advantage not to rely on the electrical grid.

The company is now preparing manufacturing capacity aimed ultimately at producing tens of thousands of hydrogen drones (Z1 model) per year.

Heven has developed its own hydrogen supply concept: the drones carry replaceable hydrogen tanks/cylinders which can be swapped in a few minutes.  They developed a mobile Hâ‚‚ Refueling Station that produces hydrogen locally by electrolysis.

Heven opened a 56,000 ft² (~5,200 m²) factory in Winchester, Virginia, in early September. It is intended as the blueprint for a network of US manufacturing sites with hydrogen-propulsion manufacturing capabilities, which would turn drones into a significant series-production application for small hydrogen fuel-cell systems.
