Shanghai launches major hydrogen corridor with over $1 billion in investments
Shanghai has announced more than $1 billion in planned investments to develop a major new hydrogen corridor, reinforcing its ambition to become a leading hub for hydrogen mobility and clean industrial growth. The initiative will focus on building integrated hydrogen infrastructure along key transport and logistics routes, supporting fuel cell vehicle deployment, refuelling networks, and hydrogen supply chains for heavy-duty freight and port operations. The corridor is part of China’s broader strategy to accelerate hydrogen commercialization and decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, with Shanghai positioning hydrogen as a central pillar of its future energy transition.
