Northwest European Hydrogen Monitor 2025 out now

“Northwest Europe is at the forefront of low-emissions hydrogen development” And who are we to argue with the International Energy Agency? In the third edition of the Northwest European Hydrogen Monitor, the IEA provides its annual update on the state of low-emissions hydrogen markets across Northwest Europe.

The key takeaway? Northwest European countries have ambitions to develop up to 30 to 35 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser capacity by 2030. However, most low-emissions hydrogen projects are still in their early development stages. Their success will heavily depend on supportive policies and regulatory frameworks. In addition, cost-efficient hydrogen market development will require a regional approach that leverages the synergies between national markets.
