JERA Nex bp Opens Ostend HRS to power Cleaner Maritime Operations for Offshore Wind

The global offshore-wind firm JERA Nex bp has launched a new hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) at the port of Ostend on 7 November 2025, designed to support greener vessel operations linked to offshore wind farms. The station was developed under the EU-funded ISHY programme and initially will serve the hydrogen-powered crew transfer vessel ‘Hydrocat 48’ (CMB.TECH), with capacity to refuel several ships per day. Green hydrogen is supplied by Lhyfe from France and Germany, and the project is delivered in collaboration with the Port of Ostend, main contractor Haskel, and multiple research and industrial partners.
