Indian ACME secures long-term offtake and Cfd support for large scale methanol and ammonia projects in India

ACME Group and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) have signed a long-term agreement for the supply of 100,000 tonnes of green methanol per year, starting in 2030, from ACME's integrated renewable energy project in Gopalpur, Odisha, India. Produced using renewable hydrogen and captured CO₂, the green methanol will support the decarbonisation of the shipping and chemicals sectors while strengthening a low-carbon fuel supply chain between India and Japan. The agreement expands the strategic partnership between the two companies and demonstrates the growing commercial demand for hydrogen-derived e-fuels as a key enabler of industrial and maritime decarbonisation.

Besides this methanol development, ACME already developed large scale green ammonia production projects, of which one is under construction in the Port of Duqm in Oman (initially 100kton/year with investment decision for 900kton/year) and another advanced flagship project in India with 400kton/year. For the Duqm project, offtake agreements were already in place with YARA. For the Indian project, ACME has secured Cfd (Contracts for Difference) from the Japanese government for imports of ammonia from India into Japan, for a period of 25 years.
