Hydrogen Council’s annual ‘Hydrogen Insights’ publication, reports a positive evolution in the number of FID’s for hydrogen projects in the past year
The annual publication of the Hydrogen Council, in collaboration with McKinsey, gives an overview of the most recent developments of the global hydrogen ecosystem. They analysed 1500 projects worldwide and notice a ‘clear shift from announcements to implementation’. More investments through 2030 have been announced but more important is the fact that the number of projects that reached FID status (434 projects) and the committed capital for these projects have grown significantly.
Despite this positive news, the Hydrogen Council stresses that we are still far below the required level to achieve the global climate targets and that extra actions regarding a supportive regulatory framework and targeted incentives are needed to realise ‘hydrogen’s full climate and socio-economic potential’.
