Growing attention for liquid hydrogen at the WHS, with a joint LH2 action statement and a new partnership between Ecolog and Kawasaki

The development of the Oman–Europe liquid hydrogen corridor is gaining strong momentum, with the announcement of the partnership between Japan’s Kawasaki and EcoLog that will collaborate on enabling safe and and stable supply of hydrogen to demand centers across Europe. The corridor, which aims to connect Oman’s green hydrogen production capacity with import infrastructure in the Port of Amsterdam and industrial demand centres in Northwest Europe, forms part of a broader effort to establish large-scale international hydrogen trade routes into Europe.
During the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, leading industrial players and infrastructure operators - including Airbus, Air Liquide, Air Products, Bosch, Chart, Daimler Truck, EcoLog, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Port of Amsterdam, Port of Rotterdam, Samskip and Shell - issued a joint LH₂ action statement calling for accelerated deployment of liquid hydrogen infrastructure, harmonised regulation and targeted investment support. The signatories stressed the urgent need to develop integrated hydrogen value chains covering liquefaction, import terminals, bunkering infrastructure, logistics corridors and inland distribution networks, with major European ports playing a central role as hydrogen gateways.
