Flanders reaffirms the importance of hydrogen in the new coalition agreement

On Monday, September 30, the new Flemish government under Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele presented the Flemish coalition agreement for the period 2024-2029. The coalition agreement contains several opportunities to implement an ambitious hydrogen policy in Flanders. The government is already planning a revision of the Flemish hydrogen strategy. The establishment of hydrogen corridors – in collaboration with our neighboring countries – is also on the agenda. Finally, the realisation of hydrogen infrastructure and the financial support for hydrogen production, import and use in the framework of the so-called ‘Klimaatsprong’ will be further analysed. You can read what this implies in the Flemish Coalition Agreement (dutch).
