European Hydrogen Observatory releases updated hydrogen sector data for 2025
The European Hydrogen Observatory has published a significant update to several of its key hydrogen sector datasets, incorporating the latest available data collected up to December 2025 to provide policymakers, industry stakeholders and researchers with a more current and comprehensive view of the EU hydrogen landscape. The refreshed dashboards now include updated figures on electrolyser manufacturing capacity - showing both operational and planned capacity announcements - alongside the latest CAPEX and OPEX cost data for PEM and alkaline electrolysis technologies, offering clearer insights into cost trends for hydrogen production. In addition, the clean hydrogen production and consumption projects dashboard now reflects operational facilities and projects under construction based on recent announcements, while updated overviews of national hydrogen strategies and EU policies and legislation illustrate how regulatory frameworks are evolving across Europe.
