EUH2WK: Hydrogen Industry asks for updated European hydrogen strategy and simplification of legislation
Throughout the week, speakers and attendees called for a refreshed European Hydrogen Strategy grounded in resilience, streamlined regulation, and stronger market incentives. The event also emphasized that renewable and low-carbon hydrogen will be essential for Europe’s flexibility, long-term storage needs, and path to climate neutrality without compromising energy autonomy. The famous ‘delegated act’ defining the conditions for RFNBO’s should be reviewed as soon as possible to facilitate the business cases for EU production projects.
As Official Country Partner at European Hydrogen Week 2025, Oman presented a robust ‘Strategic Hydrogen Delivery Framework’ anchored by over USD 50 billion in investment, designed to ensure its hydrogen exports are produced, transported and certified in line with European standards. As future H2 supplier for Europe, Oman stresses the importance of a stable EU legislative framework, to create certainty for investors. Their ambition is to establish a credible and investable pathway linking Omani production to European industrial demand, broadening access, enhancing resilience, and supporting the EU’s long-term decarbonization goals.
