Enthusiastic start for hydrogen in port equipment

On 23/09/22 the kick off meeting for ‘hydrogen in port equipment’ took place in the Port House of Antwerp, where Port of Antwerp-Bruges and WaterstofNet welcomed 18 organizations. Although the meeting was scheduled on a Friday afternoon, the enthusiasm was big! Companies expressed their interest in initializing cooperations to set up projects for the use of hydrogen in different types of port equipment. The scope of these projects is to set up the whole supply chain of hydrogen, to foresee appropriate port equipment and all permits needed for operation. Therefore end users (terminal operators) were present, but also technology providers and equipment manufacturers.

In a first step each organization presented its interests and offers, but also its needs. Then, in a second step, the timing and scope for different types of port equipment were discussed. In the following meeting(s) the scope will be further detailed.
