Dutch Coalition Agreement key step for hydrogen economy

On 30 January 2026, the leaders of D66, VVD, and CDA presented their coalition agreement for 2026–2030, titled ‘Aan de slag’, marking a major political step toward forming a new Dutch government. The agreement signals an ambition to address pressing national challenges such as energy security, economic resilience, and climate policy, while introducing significant reforms and budget shifts. Presented by Rob Jetten, Dilan Yeşilgöz, and Henri Bontenbal, the coalition framework outlines a renewed commitment to long-term investments and structural change, creating important momentum for sectors like clean energy and hydrogen, which are expected to play an increasing role in strengthening sustainable industry and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
NLHydrogen welcomes the coalition agreement, emphasizing that it clearly acknowledges major challenges such as energy security and industrial competitiveness, areas where hydrogen is seen as an essential building block.
