Daimler Truck launches NextGenH2 Truck
Daimler Truck has unveiled its new Mercedes-Benz NextGen hydrogen fuel cell truck, marking a major step toward zero-emission long-haul transport. According to the company, the vehicle is designed for heavy-duty applications and is expected to enter small-series production by the end of 2026. The NextGenH2 truck combines liquid hydrogen storage technology with an advanced fuel cell system, enabling long driving ranges and fast refuelling - key advantages for decarbonizing freight transport where battery solutions may be less practical. Daimler Truck emphasizes that hydrogen will play a crucial role alongside electrification in achieving climate-neutral logistics, and this development signals growing momentum for hydrogen-powered trucks as part of Europe’s clean transport transition.
