Company consulting by students in BE and NL

Both in Flanders and the Netherlands, student consulting initiatives exist that can support your company for events & projects and bring you in contact with motivated students that might become the ideal colleague of the future.  As WaterstofNet, we were recently contacted by two organisations that were interested in tackling projects related to hydrogen.

AFC (Academics for Companies) is the biggest Junior Enterprise in Belgium (active in Leuven, Brussels & Gent) and is focused on building the bridge between students and companies with an emphasis on consultancy and entrepreneurship. They have been awarded as Europe's most entrepreneurial JE in 2020 and best Business Approach in 2020 and 2023.

The motto of AFC is "explore, learn, apply" and is put into practice through major events about actual topics, interactive workshop tracks where small groups of students sharp their soft skills and consultancy projects where selected students solve a hands-on problem for companies.

In their projects, they offer 5 student consultants who, under professional guidance, solve a real-life business case for your company.

For students, this is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in consultancy, while you receive a fresh perspective from a group of motivated students and strong results that you can further utilize.

Additionally, these students will get to know your company in an interactive manner.

The second organisation is Graduate Consulting:

Graduate Consulting (GC) is a student-run organisation consisting of ambitious Master students of the Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam University of Amsterdam & Leiden University. In addition, the students are alumni of student consultancies (e.g. IRP Delft & DKC) and have a broad range of extracurricular experiences and study backgrounds. Moreover, the GC students have been trained and guided by top-tier consultancy firms.

This diversity allows GC to provide innovative, fresh and objective insights into specific strategic problems/cases for companies in various sectors. GC executes this tailor-made analysis for companies of all sizes in the Benelux. The particular company and GC define the scope of the research in close collaboration. Typically, the projects last about 18 weeks and are conducted on a part-time basis by a team of 4 students. Our fifth project round runs from September 2023 till January 2024.

GC was founded to provide a platform for these motivated students and facilitate a final unique opportunity to gain even more training and in-depth knowledge regarding strategic problem-solving
