Belgian pavilion at the WHS attracts many visitors, with 9 exhibitors, a lively beer night and the visit of the Belgian energy minister

For the first time, WaterstofNet and Cluster Tweed -under the umbrella of the Belgian Hydrogen Council- have organised a joint Belgian company booth at the WHS with nine companies exhibiting, including Agfa, CertifHy, EnergyVille, Fluxys, KH Engineering, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Sweco, VTTI and Virya Energy.  On Wednesday, Belgian Federal Minister for Energy Mathieu Bihet visited the Belgian pavilion, where he was welcomed by several board members, who gave him a brief update on the ambitions of Belgian industry in the global hydrogen roll-out and called for the swift introduction of supporting legislation, starting with the implementation of the RED III. The minister took the opportunity to meet the representatives of the various companies at the stand, who explained their activities, products and projects. Afterwards, he made a tour of a number of other important Belgian companies exhibiting at the summit.

The first exhibition day was rounded off by the unrivalled ‘Belgian Beer night’, by far the most convivial network event at the exhibition, which attracted all present WIC/BHC members and their contacts. The second exhibition day was less overwhelming, but allowed more in-depth discussions. This joint initiative was much appreciated by the participants, and will be continued in future events (please contact us if there is interest to join).

On Tuesday, the day before the exhibition, the Belgian Hydrogen Council and GH2 India strengthened their cooperation on hydrogen import value chains through a dedicated workshop bringing together representatives from ports, infrastructure players, industrial leaders and innovators to advance concrete partnerships around hydrogen production, import and distribution, while positioning Belgium as a strategic gateway for hydrogen flows into Europe.
