Information sessions on the Technology Roadmap of FLAG (Flemish Aerospace Group-part of Agoria),
As WaterstofNet we have a collaboration with FLAG to identify opportunities for local industry w.r.t. hydrogen in aviation.
The European Commission (EC) has defined ambitious objectives for air transport in its strategy for a European Green Deal, more precisely to ‘cut emissions by at least 55%’ by 2030, and to ‘become the world's first climate-neutral continent’ by 2050.
Faced with these ambitious goals, the aeronautical sector will have to reinvent itself in order to contribute effectively to these objectives. The entire aviation ecosystem, including transversal technologies as hydrogen and electrification and emerging technologies in the field of Advanced Air Mobility, will have to be mobilized to create an innovation-driven framework capable of meeting these challenges.
Also, the Flemish aerospace industry in its broadest sense will have to work collaboratively towards a long-term strategic research and innovation agenda, tailored to its Flemish industry and with the ambition to create a strong, ambitious and long-lasting technological footprint.
This roadmap serves as a base-point and outlines various domains and R&D&I topics that will have to be addressed by the aviation industry.
You can join one of the info-sessions.
During these info-sessions, Mr. Andy Vanaerschot (Research & Innovation manager ASCO) and Peter Reynaert (Director R&D and Innovation, SABCA) will inform you about the roadmap and how to interpret this document correctly.
